    Personal Leadership

    I am always striving to be a better leader.  Not just a leader within our company but a leader within my family and a leader of my own destiny.  I discovered the following and thought it was good enough to put here.
     

    Personal Leadership is the ability and desire to crystallize your thinking and to establish a specific direction and destination for your own life.  It includes the courage, choice, and commitment to move in that direction by taking committed and determined action to acquire, accomplish, or become whatever you visualize for your future.

     

    You recognize people with great personal leadership because they:

     
      1. Hold a vision of a bright future
      2. Know where they are going
      3. Are confident of their journey
      4. Are guided by clear values
      5. Have purpose in their actions
      6. Seek feedback for development
      7. Balance work and life activities
      8. Take care of themselves
      9. Continually develop their skills
      10. Foster positive relationships
      11. Nurture a positive mental attitude
      12. Value and respect every person
      13. Love their work and life
      14. Live in service to other people
      15. Freely give to people in need
      16. Invest in the success of others
      17. Show financial responsibility
      18. Set and achieve written goals
      19. Open to and embrace change
      20. Are non-judgmental

    This is a very good reminder for me.  I would rate myself highly in many of these but I have a long way to go with some others.  I am going to print these out and put them on the wall by my desk.  I hope whoever reads this finds these helpful.
